Fun, Fit and Fabulous
Think outside the gym
05 February 2009
If you CRINGE every time someone merely mentions the gym, don't worry, there are plenty of fun ways to get fit so you feel FAB-U-LOUS!
Boot in the Backside
Need a boot in the backside to get you going? Bootcamp training could be your answer... Ufit is a new fitness program which is both challenging and fun and makes use of the outdoors in locations like the Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning.

Climb and Fly
Why not try a challenging jungle course to get those muscles moving. Climb ladders, bridges, swings and nets while at least 5m off the ground and zip over water on a flying fox when you complete each section... The Forest Adventure takes 2-3 hours to complete and is a great workout for the whole body, and of course being Singapore based it's also extremely safe!

Rock 'n' Roll
If you've been climbing the walls in your office get out and make a workout of it. Climb Asia has the biggest private rock climbing gym in Singapore. Look out for the new 30m Via Verrata wall opening at the Orchard Central Mall later this year.
We love: The toned arms and legs you get from climbing.

Find your Mighty Dragon
Stroke, stroke, stroooke! Dragon Boating is one of the most spectacular traditions of ancient China. There are a number of local and international clubs including the Breast Cancer Foundation and the AustCham Singapore Dragon Boat Team who invite people of all nationalities to join.
We love: The social aspect of a team sport.
Catch Me If You Can
There's nothing like a bit of competition to get the adrenalin going and triathlon does just that. Tribob offers training camps and workshops for all levels in swim, bike and run. Particularly geared towards preparing for the main triathlon events in and around Singapore such as the Sprint Series, Bintan Triathlon and the Vietnam Triathlon.
We love: Some friendly competition to motivate us to fitness.
Wake Up to Waves
Wakeboarding can improve strength in your chest, shoulders, triceps, back and abdominals ... especially if you're attempting tricks. Punggol Sea Sports Accessories offers beginner to advanced courses or you can rent a boat and driver for $98 ph and go with a group of friends.
Alternatively check out the cable ski park on the East Coast. This is good fun for people of all ages and abilities who can wakeboard, waterski, slalom, trick ski, kneeboard, or even surf.
We love: Adrenaline pumping water action.
