Lunch on this!
Just opened in Singapore
30 March 2009
Spruce
This brand new eatery in the exclusive embassy district is ticking a lot of boxes... Good breaky menu, relaxed alfresco dining, reasonable pricing, on onsite bakery, a herb and veggie patch, private dining, AND a cheese room... We have run out of boxes to tick! Think PS Café style outdoor deck dining with a relaxed casual menu. We can't wait until the outdoor cocktail lounge opens.
Where: Phoenix Park, 320 Tanglin Road, p. 6836 5528
We love: The relaxed atmosphere and the relaxed prices
Oriole Café & Bar
With a New York bar-kinda-feel, this stylish new venue is another welcomed opening here. Set up by the guys that ran Whitebate and Kale, Oriole is a great place for coffee, cocktails or a simple meal. Some say the coffee is the best in town! We love their signature dish of fish and chips ($15++),The cocktail menu is pretty impressive too, with innovations like strawberry pepper margaritas and ginger and lime daiquiris your taste buds will never be bored again.
Where: Pan Pacific Serviced Suites, 96 Somerset Road p. 6238 8348
We love: The booth seating and the attentive service
Fresh Origin
If you need a salad fix in the city, this is your place. With 15 different salads, all inspired by recipes from around the world, there is something for everyone. We love the Thai influenced Koh Mak Salad ($9.50-$12) with its prawns, coriander and dry shrimps. Or choose from their menu of sandwiches, soups, fresh fruit cocktails and power shots for that quick energy boost. This place is a refreshing place for that midday healthy pick-me-up.
Where: 1 George Street, p. 6536 5669
We love: The crunchy fresh salads and the light filled café with its floor to ceiling windows.
Skinny Pizza
Described as the flipside of pizza, with the skinnest, crispiest, crackiest base, this is the latest innovation from the Spa Esprit group. A crispy flatbread is topped with fresh ingredients such as wild truffle mushroom, classic caesar, and squid ink to make this skinny pizza experience. They also have a range of soups and a special 'Sharing is Caring' lunch menu for two ($38++). We are hooked.
Where: Barracks, 8D Dempsey Road p. 6476 6050, #01-002 Suntec City Galleria, p. 6333 9774
We love: That extremely crunchy texture and a light non-carb laden pizza experience
