wow!
Very disappointed by the absence of the French stall on Serangoon road , which offers real bistrot cuisine,
the real fare you will find in any bistrot in paris, the one the French are really craving for,
hearty and flavourful, home cooking at its best leaving no scar into your wallet!
L'angelus (restaurant) and le carillon d'anjou (bistrot with lovely french snacks) on club street are also favourite with
the French community.
Not to forget Le bistrot du Sommelier on Prinsep st.
French cuisine comes into style, very refined and with very expensive products, and simple, heart warming
and just as delicious, so let's not forget the later!
Singapore's Best French Restaurants
Celebrate Bastille Day
03 July 2009
Not going to be on the Champs-Elysees this July 14? Well just head to one of our favourite French restaurants and indulge in foie gras, French onion soup, steak frites, crème brulee and leave room for the cheese!
French Kitchen
The newest in town, with Chef Jean Charles-Dubois at the helm and a great set lunch menu ($38++), the French Kitchen is the real deal. Dive into the foie gras, lobster bisque or beef and braised short rib. Dark chocolate crème brulee awaits for dessert... oui merci!

Le Pont de Vie
This hidden gem in Kampong Glam is definitely worth a visit - some say it's the best in Singapore. Located in a shophouse, it's a small intimate restaurant, friendly without being too formal. Just perfect for a romantic occasion. Oh and the fine French fare will impress as well.
Where: Le Pont de Vie, 26 Kandahar Street p.6238 8682
Au Petit Salut
Think French Country charm. One of our favourite lunch spots ($30++), Au Petit Salut focuses on traditional-style country cuisine, and does it well. House specialties are the cassoulet of duck leg confit and red wine braised beef cheeks. And for the serious carnivores, there is the 1kg slab of premium Australian Black Angus beef, sliced at your table by the chef himself.
Where: Au Petit Salut, 40C Harding Road p.6475 1976
Les Bouchons
This cosy French bistro is an old favourite. Great for a Friday night, head here for the steak and famous free flow frites, after a few drinks in town. Call ahead to get a table!

Absinthe
With Head Chef Francois Mermilliod (formerly of Flutes at the Fort), and Philippe Pau (formerly of Les Amis Catering) managing this charming and sophisticated restaurant, you wont be disappointed. Located right next to Oso, Absinthe is fine French food, and equality matching service.
Where: Absinthe, 48 Bukit Pasoh Road, p. 6222 9068
Picotin Bistro & Bar
With lots of outdoor room and a good kids menu, this is a favourite for the families. With traditional French dishes such as lobster bisque and duck confit, Picotin mixes it up with wood fired pizzas - which are pretty impressive too. A great casual dinning experience, this one is a winner.
Where: Picotin Bistro and Bar, 100 Turf Club Road, p.6877 1191
La Fromagerie
Cheese hounds - this is the place to go. With over 150 types, this must be the largest selection of cheeses in town. Dig into their tasting and light dining bar to sample some of the premium cheese selections. Oh and there are other fine foods and port as well.
