Short Report
The 5th Singapore Short Film Festival, Singapore's only international short film festival, returns this weekend. Featuring over 120 short films check out some whimsical Italian shorts, gritty US documentaries, or a beautifully produced French fantasy. The Midnight Cinema programme is a definite highlight.

Casual Bites
District 10 is a new understated, casual chic bistro that already has a following. Tucked away in a quiet nook not far from Newton Circus, this joint has a great indoor and outdoor ambience. We love the use of the large pong pong tree as a key feature in the outdoor dining area.

Geek Out

Expect the latest and greatest gadgets from next-generation digital televisions, coolest mobile phones, ultra-slim mobile PCs, digital imaging and more.

Mind Time
Check out Polymath & Crust (the sister store to Books Actually) which specializes in non-fiction titles. With an excellent collection of travel fiction and biographies and books on natural science and history, it also has a small photo exhibition on this weekend - "Places To Look For Your Mind" by Akiko Koga. This goofy exhibition is about a bittersweet longing for places, persons and things.
