Melbourne Cup in Singapore

Tuesday is such a sorry day of the week. Its not Monday, when you re-lived the weekend antics. Its not 'hump day', that joyous day that's half way through the week. When you think about it, if it wasn't for Honeycombers, Tuesday would be the saddest day of the week.

But the first Tuesday of November is a very special day for many Aussies and Kiwi's alike, its Melbourne Cup day.

And this year there are a number of fun events around town to celebrate Melbourne Cup. Our favourite Aussie bar and bistro, Boomarang is hosting Melbourne Cup with free flow of Chandon and canapés (for just $35 nett) from 10.00am until the race begins at 12noon. The race will be shown on their 4 big screens, there will be a Fashions of the Field event with celebrity judges and prize giveaways.

ANZA is also hosting a Melbourne Cup event out at the tracks. Every year ANZA take over the only race track in Singapore to recreate the Melbourne Cup. Here you will find the races live on big screens, the betting, the fashion, the fizz and lots of fun and laughter. Tickets are $120-$150 (members/non-members) and includes, western three course set lunch, free flow sparkling, red & white wine and beer all day, live betting on the races, fashion awards, lucky door prizes, games & competitions, return bus ride from the race track to the after party and lots more.

So take your pick, dust off the hat and find a lovely frock to celebrate this Tuesday.
