The best prams out there

09 March 2010

New to the game and or looking to upgrade from your current clunker? Prams, strollers, walkers, buggies, whatever you call them, your choice of chariot will affect your little one's safety, sleep-time, and your sanity! Here's our take on the four-wheel question.

The Quinny - you've seen them round. Everywhere. Pretty good all-rounders. But our verdict? Too wide and too heavy. There's a problem when you need driving lessons to negotiate the supermarket aisles.

Frequent traveller? We love the practical McLaren XLR model, easy to get up, down, in and out. But not so hot on the reclining options or the Maxi Cosi adaptors for that easy car seat convenience. We say go with a basic MacLaren Volo strollers . Cheap, light, and a perfect second stroller.

Family planning? Phil and Ted's Vibe is perfect if you plan on more than one. Our only gripe - the double doesn't have a good view for your infant.

What's the latest buzz? The Bugaboo Bee has been revamped. If you're after compact and nimble - the Bee has our No. 1 vote. And if you have the extra space, check out the Bugaboo Chameleon, an old favourite - and for good reason.

Up and away. If bending down busts you up take a look at the funky Danish Stokke which sits the little'n up nice and high. The Stokke also has that extra cool element with it's funky Danish design.

The Orbit Baby G2 - a cross between the Chameleon & the Stokke with a baby capsule that rocks. If you have the extra cash to flash, why not?

And what's the latest? The iCandy Pear has us drooling. It is the latest genius single to double convertible pram, with both seats reversible, accommodating your growing brood with style. Our hearts broke to hear this is not available in Singapore just yet, but we'll let you know how. Stick with us!

For the best prices on your hot wheels, roll into Mothers Work, Mothercare or Baby Avenue.
