Bouncy castles. Yawn. Indoor play centres. Big yawn. Climbing a wall with your mates? Tick! Zapping them with a laser beam? Huge tick! Or getting covered in mud? Bring it on!

Let them play Jane and Tarzan swinging from tree to tree (harnessed and helmeted) 4 metres above the ground at Forest Adventure, Bedok Reservoir.

If they like going nuts in the mud, then a party at The Pit is a must. Located at Turf City, this is a military-style obstacle course with challenges varying for different age groups.

Soccer/football fans can let off some steam at The Cage, Kallang, The Premier Pitch, Turf City or Futsal Pitches at East Coast Park. All are completely covered, great value and allow you to either do your own thing or hire coaches to keep the kids busy.

If speed's more their thing, head to Kartright Speedway in Jurong for some adrenaline pumping fun. Reaching speeds of up to 50km/h in a race kart should help digest all that party food.

Instead of climbing the walls at home, let them climb someone else's for a change. Vertical delights abound at Climb Asia Climbing Centre or Climbers Laboratory at Toh Guan.

If shooting each other with laser beams while playing a real-life combat simulation game sounds like fun, try Laser Tag or Combat Skirmish.

New to the scene and already incredibly popular is the Wave House Sentosa, where an artificial wave can be tailored to each kids' ability.

For skateboarding fans, a whizz around the LSP Skateboarding at Turf City should put a smile on their faces. Or for a completely different experience try skiing, snowboarding or tubing down a snow-covered slope at Snow City in Jurong.

And last but by no means least, the perennial party favourite, bowling. Cheap, fun and addictive. You can't go wrong.
