Are you green with club envy? Or puce with pool envy?

Well be green no more. There are plenty of ways for your kids to get wet in Singapore without them having to run around in the rain.

Go local
If you don't have wads of cash but just want to hang around a pool, check out one of Singapore's excellent 50m public pools and shallow paddling pools. A few give you even more bang for your buck. Sengkang Swimming Pool also has 8 slides, a fun pool, Jacuzzi and 2 teaching pools. Not to be outdone, Choa Chu Kang Swimming Complex has a whirlpool, river rapid, wave pool, high water slide and a spa. But the winner hands down is the Jurong East Swimming Complex, a mini water park featuring 3 high twirling slides, wave pool, lazy river, bubble jet station, toddler's pool and Jacuzzi. Hard to beat for a $2 entry fee!

Go SAFRA
Head to any of the SAFRA pools mid week. Fewer people. Swankier facilities. Jurong Safra gets our top vote, with a tree-house play pool, toddler's gecko pond and a leaf blaster.

Go crazy
You can't beat Wild Wild Wet for a wet day out - with shallow pools for the little ones through to gravity-defying plunges on a raft for the more adventurous.

Go to the zoo
Don't feel guilty about going to the Singapore Zoo just for the water park, everyone does it. Besides, you'll see the animals when you are whizzing past on the tram. The same rule applies to the water play area at the Singapore Science Centre. Who needs exhibits when you've got balls to throw into a whirling vortex?
