P is for Percentile, M is for MIKA, and T is for Tanjong Pagar
Weekend Inspiration
09 June 2010
P is for Percentile
Percentile is a gathering of those that breathe fashion, live for fashion, hunt for fashion and love any palette of a fashion scene. This Saturday Percentile will host more than 20 independent retailers, designers and brands. Here you will find Pouf Pouf, Quinn and Very Wooonderland's new collection. Along with local designers Nicholas, Mae Pang, Pauline Ning, Depression and a lineup of our very own local retail stores including Furrmuse, FrüFrü & Tigerlily, Déjà Vu Vintage, Antipodean, Sifr, Actually, Love Scene, Sundays and more.
When: Sat 12 June 2010, 230-7pm
Where: Percentile, The Butter Factory, 1 Fullerton Road.
M is for Mika
The London-based, Grammy-nominated and BRIT Award-winning singer-songwriter MIKA will be bashing out his chart topping hits on Monday night. Groove to the jazzy tunes of "Grace Kelly", "Relax Take It Easy", "Big Girl" and "We are Golden". If you enjoyed his first major show last year, or have yet to see Mika perform live, now is the time to see him.
When: Mon 14 Jun 2010, 8pm. $78-118, see SISTIC.
Where: Singapore Expo, 1 Expo Drive.
T is for Tanjong Pagar
Always want an excuse to wander the shophouse lined streets of Tanjong Pagar? Head over to Give Art's exhibition No Conical Hats - Southeast Asian Works on Paper, which is a gentle reminder that not all Southeast Asian art work relies on conical hats and rice paddy motifs. While your in the area stop by for brunch and a glass of wine at Speakeasy.
When: Give Art is open Saturdays 2-7pm. Free.
Where: Give Art 65 Spottiswoode Park Road, p.9005 4850 and Speakeasy, 54 Blair Road (the green shophouse on the corner)
S is for sales
If you have been under a rock (or out of the country), you might not realise this is a great time to hit the shops. The Great Singapore Sale truely is Great. Of course we have the rundown, see:The Very Best of the GSS.
When: now on.
Where: See our GSS Review on Orchard Road, Raffles City, Vivocity, and everywhere in between.
D is for Dempsey
Ohh we love a new bar, especially one with a bit of buzz and a good acronym to boot. CM-PB (Contemporary Melting Pot & Bar) might have a weird name, but we are loving the relaxed outdoor tropical feel and refreshingly fun atmosphere. Knock bar a coldie and kick back in their cane chairs in the bungalow setting. This is what Dempsey is all about.
When: open daily to 20am, happy hour ends at 9pm
Where: CM-PB , Block 7 Dempsey Rd #01-05
B is for boot-scooting
We all love a good boot-scooting line dance (like the 11,967 successful dancers in 2003 Guinness World Record attempt here). So shuffle over to the Mega Line Dance, the official closing event of the Singapore Arts Festival to be apart of Singapore history.
When: Sun 13 Jun 2010, 6-9pm, Free.
Where: Central Promontory (Country Line Dance), Marina Barrage (Line Dance). Preregister with nac_artsfestcommune@nac.gov.sg or 6837 9541.
