Yes, it's a tad more expensive (but so's the wine). And yes, its tricky to track down in Singapore sometimes (and that's why we're here). But organic just tastes better. And you know it's better for you. So here are our tips for hunting down organic nosh in your neighbourhood.

The Big Guns
Supernature is your one-stop shop for all things organic and natural with fresh food, grocery and household care items. Four Seasons and Nature's Glory are your other best bets, or check out Brown Rice Paradise where you can pick up our favourite mess-free travel snack for little ones... Ella's.

Get it delivered
It's already travelled a gazillion miles to get here, so why not get it delivered to your doorstep? Aussie Organics does weekly deliveries of all fresh produce. Or you can go nuts and stock up in bulk on your organic dried fruits, nuts and grains from Fave. We also love the organic lunchbox menu from Bunalun's. Is it lunchtime yet?

Go straight to the horses mouth (literally!)
What does organic mean anyway? The debate continues... and in the meantime you can go straight to the source and do a farm tour of your very own supplier of local produce at Bollywood Veggies or Green Circle before stocking up on their organic treats. Or head to Zenxin Wholesale Centre for some of the lowest prices islandwide for organic veggies and fruits.

Sweets for my sweet
Do you have some super sensitive tummies in your house? Delcie's is a specialised bakery that does organic, egg-free, dairy-free, sugar-free desserts and cakes. We think that means guilt-free too!

You can handle the truth
Use GoodGuide to check out and compare how all your food and other household items rate on the organic and green scale.

Check out www.theorganicgrocer.com.sg. It has over 800 products to choose from online and it gets delivered to your home. Try their seasonal veggie boxes, very fresh and value for money. Try their frozen wild fish and meats. Also has a good range of chemical free household cleaning agents and baby/children milk as well as snacks.

There is also Organic Himalaya - a source of organic farm-grown vegetables from Nepal.
Every two weeks a shipment of fresh produce is flown in and sold immediately straight from the
cartons to your dining table. No unnecessary packing in foam and plastic. We re-use the boxes for
delivery, we ask for bottles to be returned, we allow you to select your own and best of all, we replace
items that are spoiled by pesky worms, no retail outlet provides that kind of trade.
Started by Cynthia Wee-Hoefer and her husband Hans, owners of a hilltop farm outside of Kathmandu valley, we have been bringing in
a wide range of fresh produce, jams, pickles and teas to the satisfaction of a loyal band of customers.
Prices are not super high, in fact, they are so low that the business is like a mission to provide tasty and nutritious from reliable sources.
The mantra is seasonal so you get vegetables grown to peak ripeness, available when they are.
We sell some of the best log-grown shiitake mushrooms, yacon tubers, potatoes, New Zealand
spinach, radicchio, lemons, herbs and so on. One whiff and a bite will convince you that these are
truly organically grown with spring water, natural compost, farming principles in a pristine environment wi
without city traffic and industrial smokestacks within kilometres of the nurseries.
Organic Himalaya sends out updates fortnightly about what's arriving together with pointers on
the nutritional value of the produce and cooking hints. Sold from a private address as well as at the
two Saturday Farmers' Market at Loewen Gardens. Delivery is provided.
