Whether it's a Hen's night or a Tuesday night, a Girls Night Out (GNO) is a great excuse to don the heels, plum up those lips and sip away sweet cosmo's.

Doll-up
If you want to kick your night off right, start with a group make-up session by a professional makeup artist like Lizzie Cullen, who comes to your house and works her magic. Organise for a little Veuve delivery prior for the ultimate pre-party starter.

Mind-blowing cosmos and tinis
We love amazing concoctions that keep you guessing like Tippling Club's Velvet Fog and Teachers Tipple. Another secret haunt is Klee, where James Bond would not look out of place. With no menus and no live music, this place is understated and sleek. Or try Orgo, where mixologist Kitazoe is known for his fresh-home grown herb ingredients.

Star bright
A roof top bar always impresses especially a new one. We love the new and stunning Lantern on the rooftop of the oh-so-sophisticated Fullerton Bay Hotel, where you can take in the new casino's pretty lights. If you have no problem with heights, head to the new 1-Altitude at One Raffles Quay (soon to be opened). Or roof-top bar hop down Club St, hitting Sky Bar, followed by The Screening Room and come down to earth to visit Barrio Chino before moving on.

Kick back
Relax, don't battle the traffic! Stay in the district and check out The Woods, the new winebar by The Wine Company at Dempsey. You really do feel like you are in the woods! Then wander over to Pamplemousse who do a great set-menu perfect for groups and round of the night at CMPB with a nightcap (or two).

Dine time
For a GNO you need a good restaurant with a great bar. The Rabbit Hole ticks these boxes. As does Senso Ristorante and Bar, who have a special GNO offer at the mo, of a free bottle of prosecco when you dine with 3 girlfriends.

Eye candy
There's nothing like a visit to a gay bar on a GNO. We love Taboo on Neil Road, which takes us straight back to Oxford Street Sydney.

Sound check
Ending the night with a number is always fun. Muster your courage for Actors where you will be up on stage with the live band in front of the whole bar (yikes!). Or head to K Suites where you can knock out your signature karaoke numbers in privacy!
