Brown Planet
Two angry young but jaw-achingly hilarious Australian Indian Muslims, Aamer Rahman and Nazeem Hussain are heading this way in Fear of a Brown Planet. They exploded onto the stand-up scene at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and won best new-comer in 2008. They are here just for two nights, don't miss them.
When: Fri 6 Aug & Sat 7 Aug 2010. $40 (incl free drink).

Short + Sweet
The Gala Finals of Short+Sweet Singapore 2010 is the highlight of this zesty showcase. Ten of the juiciest and most delicious plays as voted by the audience and judges will be performed. Expect a culturally diverse range of characters, themes and stories.

Firecracker Seats
So want to get a good view of the fireworks this year? The fireworks will be released from The Padang, City Hall, Esplande Theatre, the waters of Marina Bay, Suntec City, Pan Pacific Hotel, Ritz Carlton Millenia Hotel and UOB Plaza & Maybank Tower. So head to one of our fav spots for a good view, book early if you want a table! Or hustle with the crowd at the waterfront of Marina Bay.
When: 6.10-7.15pm (Parade Segment), 7.15pm-8pm Fireworks Show, Mon 9 Aug 2010.

Feisty Films
Catch the must-see-in-cinema films showing this weekend. The heart-breaking story of Precious, (based on the novel Push by Sapphire) is the story of an overweight teen, pregnant with her second child in a nasty family environment. Another must-see is Inception, a smart, innovative and thrilling sci-fi starring DiCaprio.
