Kids Birthday Parties in Singapore

Thursday, 16 Sep 2010

So your little one is turning one (or two or three) and you want to celebrate. But where, when, how? Read on and we will fill you in.

Where

So if you are lucky enough to have a condo function room, use it! Saves having to scrap chocolate icing off the walls at home. If you’re little one loves the park, you can hire the function centre at the Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden. If you would like a play centre location Royce’s Gym and Grace Kids are winners. If you live East head to Polliwogs or Peek-a-Boo at Kallang Leisure Park. If you live West try Rochester House.

Action

Entertaining a host of kids is hard work. Unless you invite Professor Popcorn to present his Kidz Magic & Ventriloquist Show. Expect magic tricks, balloon sculpting and ventriloquist surprises. If he is busy, try Mr Funny. Or pull a rabbit out of your hat by tapping into the Singapore Magician’s Network. Energetic kids? They will love bouncing around on a Bouncy Castle. If the birthday boy or girl is the imaginative type, call in a Face Painter, we love Louise Farnay from Left Side Art.

Something different

If you have a fashionista, try Curly & Spike’s makeover party which finishes with a fashion parade and photographs for everyone to take home (ages 4-16). If you have an adventure buff host an ‘Amazing Race’ style party at Kent Ridge Park using Back to Basics or organise a scavenger hunt with the help of Riddle Me.

Coolest Cakes

Themed cakes are a hoot, we love Sugar and Sparkles amazing cakes. Take a look at their wiggles car cake or a batman castle – there is no theme to hard for the gifted Danya Goll. For divine cupcakes head to Half Baked Ideas or My Fat Lady. After something more simple? DaPaolo is another safe option.

Party supplies

Birthday parties need balloons; even the youngest bub loves a simple balloon or two. Call in Balloons’R'Us. Or for a one stop shop head over to Party with Us (Valley Point or Centrepoint) who can help with themed ideas from under the sea to barnyard bash.

Invite right

We love the cool kikki.K invitations but if you want to personalise, check out birthdayparty-invitations.

Bag it

The humble lolly bag is rare these days, check out Stuffed or Bag a Goodie, both will have your guests leaving with a grin.

Help!

Need another pair of hands, or someone to organise the party for you? Call in Buddy Jane who can take over and even become a personal butler for you.
