Amazing Graze
Review of new Graze restaurant at 38 Martin Road
28 March 2011
Good news Graze lovers, the Rochester Park establishment has just opened closer to the city. Located at the new Martin No. 38 building, (opposite the condo Rivergate at the back of Robinson Quay), Graze joins the fine dining Thai restaurant Kha, and a new deli concept called Provisions in this new former warehouse location.
The new venue is clean, fresh (white paint lavishly applied within) with a NY Hamptons-esque feel (even though the menu is Modern Australia).
We know its call Graze, but we didn't get the hint. Instead of grazing our way through the menu, we decided to feast. It was the weekend after all and there was just so much on the brunch menu (44 items!), we just had to ungraciously stuff ourselves. It's the Singapore way, isn't it?
Specialities include the Corned Beef Hash ($22) which includes a sunny-side egg, potato straws and a thick homemade hash brown peppered with squares of corned beef. Hubby tried the Wagyu burger ($25) which was perfectly cooked and flavoursome with caramelised onions and melted cheese. The old fashioned quart port of chips was a nice touch. We loved the Banana French Toast ($15) which was light and fluffy and the perfect blend of sweet and savoury, and good value (in comparison to the rest of the menu).
The menu extends to soups, salads, pastas and tarts along with rotisserie items after 12pm (they even serve Confit Duck!) so it really does have something for every taste occasion. And some nice Australian touches like vegemite toast and Pavlova for dessert.
Overall, this a perfect weekend starter.
