To survive in this climate and look good everyone needs a few magic makeup tricks. Here are our 5 must-buys to keeping cool and staying glam in our tropical climate.

1. Makeup Primer.
Ever felt that make-up slide on your face... its not nice... The trick to keep foundation in place is to prime, prime, prime. We love laura mercier foundation primer. This hydrating primer will ensure your makeup glides on and stays put. (Available at True Colours Makeup Cosmetics, Nee Ann City).

2. Dry Shampoo.
This is a must must must for anyone with long hair, short hair, a bob or a fringe (basically anyone with locks!). This spray on shampoo provides a dusting of fine absorbent power - which soaks up any grease. So your hair looks thick, fuller and clean. Its absolute magic. We like Klorane or Bastiste Dry Shampoo, both work their magic beautifully. (Available at most Watsons and Guardians).

3. Mineral Powder.
Pressed mineral powders from Aveda and bareMinerals are fab products - not only are they SPF 15, they are so light, you barely notice you are wearing them and they are not going to drip off your face. (Available at Sephora).

4. Lip Gloss.
Lipstick is tricky in the heat. Instead go for a moisturizing lip-gloss. We can't get enough of the By Terry Rose Lip Gloss - once you try, you just can't go back. (Available at Escentials, Paragon).

5. Blot paper.
Stop shine and add glow with a quick blot. Cheap and easy - just press and go, blotting papers are a sure bet to perk up your makeup. (Available at Sephora).
