Adventures with Bella
Singapore Children's Illustrated Story
28 May 2011
Meet Isabelle - you can call her Bella.
An American girl living in Singapore, Bella is celebrating Chinese New Year at her school with a big party and we are all invited along.
Through local expat author Stacey Zolt Hara's story telling, we follow Bella's experiences in Singapore in 'Bella's Chinese New Year'.
With clever illustrations we are guided through Singapore's customs and traditions, including orange exchanges with friends, the magical wish of a Lo Hei salad and the surprises in shiny red envelopes during the New Year.
The book is the first in a series, with the second book, 'Bella's Vietnam Adventure' expected to be available in November.
Author Stacey Zolt Hara has witnessed her children's enchantment as they've traveled across nearly every continent, collecting more passport stamps in their few years than most adults can hope to gather in a lifetime. Her ambition with her story telling is to inspire parents to see how travel adventure doesn't need to stop when you have kids.
Stacey is a former journalist and political aide, who has served as a communications advisor to then-Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and US Sen. Dick Durbin, and now works as a public relations consultant. A native of Chicago, Stacey currently lives in Singapore with her husband and two young children.
'Bella's Chinese New Year' is lovely book beautifully capturing life in Singapore. A perfect gift to bring home to nieces and nephews when heading home for the summer and one to keep in your personal collection.
