The Jackson Plan in Duxton Hill
31 May 2011
Striking your attention with its sunny, yellow facade, vintage flower-motif tiling and post-industrial interiors, The Jackson Plan is the latest addition to Duxton Hill's trend-forward F&B set.
The 90-seat British Gastrobar is named for Lieutenant Philip Jackson, the often-overlooked engineer who first divided our fledgling colony into its four main districts of Chinatown, Chulia (now Little India), Kampong Glam and the Eurasian quarter in 1822.
Brought to us by Beppe de Vito, The Jackson Plan serves a menu that is straight-forward, hearty and plentiful.
Expect traditional Brit nosh like Lancashire Hot Pot, fittingly spiced with mace in a nod to Duxton Hill's origins as a nutmeg plantation, Pig Tails and White Pudding and Fisherman's Pie with Marrowfat Peas. There's also Black Pudding, Real Chips, Potted Smoked Mackerel and Cured Ox Tongue for a smashingly authentic meal.
All ready to open its doors on 2 June 2011, we can't wait to check out this new British gastrobar - what looks like another great addition to the buzzing Duxton Hill. Check back in for our full review.
