Introducing our new post - Recipe of the Month. Designed to inspire you to get into the kitchen with easy and gourmet recipes, using ingredients easily sourced in Singapore (no running from supermarket to supermarket trying to explain Pomegranate...).

And for our first recipe, a sausage recipe, because, well there is nothing quite like a quality sausage now is there.

And spicy sausage is probably the handiest and tastiest sausage. Packed so full of flavor you hardly need to add a thing. And that's just the way we like it - fast and simple.

This recipe is perfect for when George Clooney can't be bothered cooking.

Serves: 2 blokes, 4 fashionistas or one big mama.

400g risoni (found in Cold Storage)
Extra virgin olive oil
3 spicy sausages
(like chorizo or Johnny Cash Sausages - order online 1 day prior)
50g semi-sundried tomatoes, thinly sliced crossways
Handful of cherry tomatoes
Big handful of shredded fresh basil
Zest and juice of 1 lemon
80g crumbly feta
Small fresh basil leaves, to serve
Freshly ground pepper

1. Pour a huge glass of wine. Sip frequently.

2. Cook the risoni in a large saucepan of boiling water (follow the packet instructions hon). You want al dente. Drain and return to the pan.

3. Swish a big frying pan with olive oil. Heat over a medium-high heat. Chop your sausages on the diagonal. Then sizzle your sausages, turning once, for around 4 minutes, whilst humming Johnny Cash's 'Ring of Fire'. Gulp down another wine or two.

4. Add the sausage and oil from the frying pan, as well as the tomatoes, basil and lemon juice, to the risoni. Toss gently to combine. Divide between serving dishes.

5. Accessorise with the feta, lemon rind, basil leaves and season with pepper.

6. Congratulate yourself on a job-well done.

Nice recipe, although, I have never had trouble in a Singapore supermarket explaining pomegranate.

Nice work Honeycombers! Fab idea. I have certainly struggled to find the ingredients Bill Granger calls for sometimes!
