We sent stylist (and seriously stylish) Innika Chamberlin out to brave the crowds to report, is the Great Singapore Sale really that great? And the answer is ... yes!

The Place
The new Marina Bay Sands (MBS) The Shoppes is the new hot place to shop. And with up to 80% off in over 70 shops, these guys have not been shy with the GSS.

Planning to shop til you drop? Take up the 'Shop and Stay Package' With a variety of luxurious rooms, starting at $339++ with a $50 shopping voucher per night's stay... It's not surprising at all MBS is quickly becoming a fav shopping spot.

But ION Orchard is not missing the action either. The centre has a range of promos on, like $30 vouchers if you spend $350 in a single receipt. Sweet. But be warned, early birds will get these worms as discounts are limited daily (make your purchase before noon and then hot foot it to level 4 concierge to redeem!)

The Picks
Need blue jeans? You're in luck. The timeless and super comfy (not to mention slimming) 7 For All Mankind (MBS) are a whopping 50% off selected new collection stock!

Our good friend Jimmy Choo (MBS & Paragon) has also chipped in offering 30% off a selection favourite clutches and oh-so-comfy, glam heels.

Furla (ION), perfect arm candy with their chic colour palettes, functional sizes and futuristic styles has 15% off new season collections and up to 60% off other selected items.

Swoop into Topshop (ION) with their racks of accessories and apparel updated daily. (We have found new additions each day!) Be sure to shop early, as the fashion savvy swoop fast on the mission for a good deal. Of course, Topshop card holders get an additional 10% off already discounted prices.

We all know modern-retro styles in colour block brights and crisp whites take your look from day to night. bebe (ION) hits the mark with its current collection, and right now with every $300 spent at any bebe outlets this summer, it entitles you to one lucky draw coupon to win a Vespa LX150i worth $6000, and a $500 bebe wardrobe. Glam goes vava voom with this promo.

If contemporary style is your thing, head to Nicholas (Marina Square). Collections are designed for the modern lady, with crisp clean lines touched with geometrically quirky details. Get an extra $10 SGD gift voucher and spend more than $500 in a hit and receive $50 gift voucher, jersey scarf form Saturday AND a tote bag from Nicholas! Thank you Nic.

Shopping in Singapore's hotspots can be manic at the best of times and with so many great bargains to be had, joining in the fashion frenzy is the only way to survive. Make sure your pedestrian, pram and umbrella dodging skills are at their finest...

Thanks to the Honeycombers website, i recently discovered where my favourite label
was sold in Singapore. But after making a special effort to visit the store today, was met with an "out to lunch" sign.
I called the handwritten hand phone number eager to make a few quick purchases before picking up my son from school, only to be told that they were having lunch too far from the store and could i come back.
It was 1.15pm and according to the shop hours on the door they had only opened at midday.
Obviously they dont cater for all the people who prefer to shop for clothes rather than have lunch?
Disappointed.
