Let's face it Goldilocks, you need to know who to trust when it comes to your tresses.

Caucasian hair is very different to Asian hair, you don't have to be a scientist to figure that one out.

So you need a hairdresser that has had plenty of practise in primping golden manes.

We've explored the Island to uncover the salons you can trust - so we can bring to you The Golden List.

Actually, I just switched afters years at Sabune Cabine because they refused to not use bleach on my hair. So, for considerably less $, better coffee, WiFi connection and an even better location I tried NEXT at ION yesterday. Superb blonde colour and NO BLEACH, it can be done!

Thanks Tresna
Yes I love WIFI too at a salon, sadly I love to be online at all times!
I have heard good things about NEXT at ION - who do you recommend we ask for in terms of technician for blonding treatments?

I just followed my stylist from Sabune Cabine (Dawson) to NEXT at ION too. Shirley did the color and I was very happy with it.

Thanks Nicky. We will put Shirley on the list of technicians to try! ION is such a good location too - will definitely give it a go.

Aside from blonde colour, any ideas on great stylist for short (boy short) hair cutting? Had my hair cut (from long) at Sabun Cabane and not too impressed with the cut - so after a really good stylist that 'gets' Caucasian hair. I'm waiting for this nightmare to grow out some in the meantime...any help you can suggest would be great. Thanks.

I think Toni & guy is a safe bet for cuts for caucasians as well, Since they learn techniques straight from the academy in London. Ask for a snr style director.

I just went from very dark brown to really blonde with NEXT at Ion and was thrilled with the end result- ( after receiving a not so pleasing result elsewhere
And there was nooo pushing of their products what-so-ever! Polite & Friendly & they listen to you - - definitely going back there again

Hi - I'm from America and recently got my hair done in Jakarta (where I currently live) and didn't like it. I would like to try Bryna Hair. Can you tell me how you like it? I thought about trying it the weekend of Nov 4th.

Thanks,
Carrie

Who did the blonde at Next at Ion? I would like to try it soon!

Hi Carrie,

I've been to Bryna twice now and have been really happy. She has a no-nonsense approach but is efficient and skilled and doesn't charge the earth for blonde highlights - unlike most salons in Singapore!

chris | December 18, 2011 8:45 PM | Reply

Do not go to I*con in holland village. I asked for blonde highlights with some light brown low lights and I got grey/green. Most horrible hair experience I have ever had. ANd this was done by the "senior director". Not to mention he kept defending it and making excuses. He even tried to charge me for the wash after ruining my hair.
