The small, vibrant and colourful streets of Little India have a lot to offer of late.

If you haven't ventured to this neighbourhood in a while, there are a number of good reasons to dig around this interesting enclave...

1. Post-Museum
Wanna feel like you are in NY? Head to this independent cultural and social space for film screenings, an artist talk or a meal at their social enterprise cafe. Word is they are closing down end July, (sob, sob) so make sure you stop in for dinner and a film before it's gone.
Post-Museum,107+109 Rowell Road

2. The Black Sheep Cafe
Famous for their Duck Confit (often referred to as one of the best in Singapore) this is a humble homey restaurant offering exceptional quality. Word of warning, as this is an owner-chef operation you need to book ahead to prevent disappointment - as Chef Ratha has been known to close the restaurant for catering events.
The Black Sheep Cafe, 35 Mayo Street

3. Swaadisht
A small cosy Indian restaurant, authentic with a capital A, this is a true hidden gem. Kerala cuisine is served in a very humble (read: basic) dining room. Expect to be the only non-Indian there. Must trys are the Appam and Chicken stew and Biriyani. You will be back.
Swaadisht, 47 Chander Road

4. Spicy Thai Thai
Back alley dining at its best, Spicy Thai Thai is an authentic Thai stall which offers a few Thai-Chinese twists... like the Moo Kar Tar, a Thai-invented Chinese-Korean BBQ hotpot. But don't worry you can still indulge in classics like pineapple rice!

5. 7 Sensations
A fully holisitic and vegetarian restaurant - this is vegertarian fusion Singapore style. Mixing Chinese, Western, Thai, and more -the menu includes an amazing array of dishes. We loved the mango and avocado salad... delish!
7 Sensations, 16 Madras Street

6. Chia's Vegetables Supply
The most famous stall in Tekka Market, listen out for funky bossa nova tunes blasting, to locate Chia's. Here you will find a huge range of vegetables like fennel, zucchini, brussels sprouts, matsusake mushrooms, baby spinach, as well as all the herbs you can handle. Its rumoured that 5-star chefs are amongst his customers...

7. The Indian Prince
The Prince of Wales is a salt-of-the-earth backpacker pub. Great for live music on a Friday night, or a footy game, this is down-to-earth and down-right pub-y. We wish there were more POWs around.
