Pulling Off The Pixie

Celebrity Hair Trend: Cutting off the Tresses

Think Emma Watson, and cute-as-pie Michelle Williams, yes, the celebrities are leading the charge on the Pixie cut.

Mia Farrow first delivered the Pixie to the world in '68 (thank you bold and brave Mia!).
As a great low maintenance style, it is perfect for our tropical Singapore heat.

But who can pull off the Pixie?

1. Oval Shape.
The best face shape for a Pixie is an oval shape ...these girls seems to have all the luck! Some rectangular shapes could also work. Round and square face shapes do not attempt! This could accentuate the width and any pronounced jawline squareness.

2. Fine Features.
If you suspect you have a big nose or ears... this one's not for you. A beautiful face that is well made up would best highlight the pixie. Just like a pixie is petite, this works for those lucky gals who are of a smaller size.

3. Medium Hair Type.
The pixie works well with hair that is of medium thickness (not to thin or thick). It's great for straight hair, but may also work for wavy or loosly curled hair. Once styled with product a Pixie cut will help minimise frizz - a blessing in Singapore... Amen to that!

As with most things in life, if you feel confident enough, you can probably pull it off. So even if you don't tick all the boxes, but love the look, and believe you can rock it, then we say - go for it!

Book an appointment with a tried and tested stylist from our Honeycombers Directory and workshop your new rocking style potentials!
