Gourmet Modern Italian Trattoria in the Heartland

Handmade pasta cooked al dente... tick.
Pizza flour flown in from Italy...tick.
Celebrity Chef Peter Neo at the helm...tick.
Totally suburban location... tick, tick!

We were impressed with the authentic Modern Italian Tratoria Rubato (meaning expressive and rhythmic).

We stumbled across this cosy (almost too cosy) venue while meandering around the Clover Park Enclave - just minutes away from Junction 8, Bishan.

It seems out of place in a row of run down eateries and hawker stalls, but don't let the neighbours fool you - this place serves a menu that holds it's own against some our city's most exclusive dining areas.

The staff are super eager to please, something that is rare, especially for a new establishment and the kitchen is happy to change-up meals on the menu to suit your tastes. The starter of calamari and prawns is a must, the woodfired pizzas are winners with their thin crusts, and the Chocolate Fondant is TO-DIE-FOR (crispy outer layer and molten lava core...tick)!

We are almost a little sad to let this cat out of the bag, as we wanted to keep this bellissimo gem all to ourselves. But that is the kind of selfless caring people we are...Enjoy!
