Do Toning Trainers & Flip Flops Really Work?

Fat Melting Marvel or Flippin’ Fad?
Flip flops, thongs, jandals, slippers…whatever you like to call them… butt-working trainers ain’t going anywhere in a hurry.
Do we need to get on the toning shoe bandwagon?
The Promise
These wonder trainers and sandals claim to generate between 27%-30% more muscle activity in the lower body (toning legs and thighs while you walk) and help with weight loss. Sounds pretty bloody amazing!
The Reality
Well… we hate to be the one to break it to you… but… You can’t just expect to pop these gems on your feet and magically melt away unwanted pounds (damn it!).
They are not going to replace your ‘real’ fitness regime, however they may help to get your better results sooner. They should help get more bang for your buck during incidental activity as you get about town.
The Look
Thanks to our steamy tropical climate, most of us live in sandals, jandals, flippers or thongs year round. So if you can handle this footwear fashion – it can’t hurt to choose one that can give a much wanted boost to our backsides.
From frills to metallic the FitFlop has been spotted on our shores for the last 3-4 years and they look set to stay.
Sketchers Women’s Tone-Ups have also recently entered the market, which has kept the Fit Flop Brand on their toes (so to speak).
We’ve tried them, and they are comfy and convenient… but let’s just say we haven’t cancelled our gym membership just yet.
