The Best Spray Tans in Singapore

Curly versus straight, blue versus brown, brunette versus blonde. We girls always want what we don't have!

The same goes for our complexions. Pale and interesting is a definite trend to embrace, a la Mad Men's Christina Hendricks, however for those who swear a tan makes them instantly look five kilos lighter, get thee to a spray tan booth.

Hannah the Spray Tanner
Quick and convenient, you can relax in the privacy of Hannah's home spray booth. With the option of one or more coats depending on your colour preference, you'll be a bronzed babe before you know it. With a delicious coconut fragrance, you can leave the formula on for as little as two hours for a lighter colour or overnight for a darker colour, before washing off. Our golden glow (after leaving overnight) lasted five days and was a steal at $50.

Sylvia's Secrets
For the goldilocks would-be tanner, Sylvia's Secrets offers three different types of spray tan. There's the traditional golden formula; the 'gimme brown' formula which comes in varying levels of DHA so you can choose how brown you want to be; and the express formula which can be left on for three hours for a light tan and up to five hours for a dark tan. We tried the express formula and after leaving on for five hours had a beautiful, healthy-looking tan which lasted over ten days. Just make sure you've got plenty of moisturiser on your palms beforehand. Express tan $65.

Pink Parlour
With such glamorous decor, we felt like we were enjoying a night out at an exclusive bar rather than another routine beauty appointment. The organic formula and meticulous skills of the beautician produced a lovely colour which lasted seven days (after being left on overnight as recommended). The option of a pre-spray shower is great for prepping skin. The golden goddess herself, Paula Abdul, even popped in for a spray when she was in town. $58.

Do-It-Yourself
If you don't fancy blinding your beautician with your pasty pallor, Sephora's Tinted Self-Tanning Body Mist, $26, is a good alternative. Easy to apply (although you may need help applying to your back), this strongly scented mist has a light tint so you can see where you're applying. Although it only lasts a few days, it's great for topping up an existing tan.
