The Best Breakfasts Island Wide

We are two dress sizes bigger but we now have a list of the best breakfasts island wide.

1. The Plain Café

Reknown for their great eggs done lots of ways. We cannot go past the Deans breakfast (Vegemite and melted cheese on toast with eggs on top). Delicious! That and an accompanying coffee are hard to beat!

Hard to beat!

2. Jules Café

Simply but tasty, we love the wholesome weekend breakfasts at Julse. Worth the hike to Serangoon!

When: Mon-Fri 11.30am-9.30pm, Sat-Sun 8.30am-9.30pm, closed Tuesdays.

3. Kith Cafe

Oh-so-popular with the pram & scooter brigade, Kith serve a classic breakfast café on the river. It will not disappoint (as long as you can get a table!)

4. The bread project

As declared by some ‘east coasters’ as ‘the islands best’ bakery (big call we know!), its scrumptious almond croissants are a hit on the lips, but perhaps not on the hips! It is not a sit down option but great for bread and goodies on the run.

When: Tues-Fri 9am-6pm, Sat-Sun 9am-3pm, closed Mondays.

4. Baker & Cook

The artisan bakery at Greenwood Village opened just a few weeks ago and is already bustling. Eggs benedict and toast and jam featuring the homemade breads are the breakfast specialty. In a prime location near the popular Watten Estate Park, we are tipping this will be a winner.

5. Late Plate

Another new kid on the block, Late Plate is on the grounds of the NUS campus. It is an unusual location for this café that offers breakfast all day. A passionate chef and yummy menu makes us think it is worth going back for more. The pickled grapes used in some of the dishes are delicious and unexpected!

When: Mon-Sat 10am-6pm. Closed Sunday.

6. Wild Honey

These guys are pretty serious about breakfast. In fact they have an all day breakfast menu which ranges from ‘Swiss’ (aka Bircher muesli), Yemen (Malawach), Mexican (Burrito) and Tunisian (Stew). Something for everyone.

When: 9am-10pm

7. Hatched

Love a good egg? Baked, boiled, friend, scrambled or poached, Hatched will cook your eggs just as you like them. The portions are a little small, but the quality ingredients will satisfy. We love egg-white Spanish-style omelette for when we are feeling healthy!
