Hotel 1929 was certainly ahead of its time when it selected its location. While golden oldies like Tong Ah Eating House (36 Keong Saik Rd, 6223 5083) have been perfect for that old school coffee shop charm, Keong Saik Road finally also has some trendier offerings for when you’re not in your flip flops.
Taratata Bistrot
We’ve found the only restaurant in the city where the alfresco area doesn’t double as a second oven. French bistro fare like succulent beef bourbuignon and a mean French onion soup are the menu mainstayers here. For corporates on the fly there is the Express Lunch of two courses served within a speedy 25 minutes.
