Healthy Helpers
Cooking Classes with The Travelling Dietitian
Monday, 23 Jul 2012
The time: right before dinner.
The smell: in one word – delish.
The cook: your handy helper.
The verdict: You love it, your waistline loves it, and best of all, your 3 year-old loves it.
Sounds impossible? Then you haven’t met our good friend, Vanessa McNamara, the travelling dietitian.
Vanessa’s holding regular workshops to teach helpers to cook nutritious and enjoyable meals – and trust us, Ness is a godsend.
When & Where:
2 Wednesdays in the function room of The Tenerife, Laurel Wood Avenue from 10am-11am. The first class is Wed, 25 July; the second is Wed, 1 Aug.
The content:
Week 1 will cover food hygiene and some nutrition basics such as ways to reduce fat and salt in cooking and increase vegetable content of meals.
Week 2 will cover nutrition for children, including the important nutrients to focus on for a growing child, tips on dealing with fussy eaters and how to develop healthy eating habits in children with practical snack and meal ideas.
(We told you – total godsend!)
Each session costs $35/helper, and classes are popular so be sure to book your helper in quick! If you can’t make these dates, Ness will be holding regular sessions, so be sure to follow her on facebook for updates.
