More Multi-label Boutiques for the Fashion Savvy
Thursday, 16 Aug 2012
Fashion report cards just got in, guys.
High-street brands: high on the affordability scale, low on the style statement
Luxe labels: High on both ends, will cost your month’s rent so plan in advance
Boutique shopping: Won’t come apart at the seams after 2 washes, will get you your sartorial cred, and will not cost you a near-starvation experience.
True story – numbers don’t lie! Here are 5 boutiques to get your wardrobe fix:
MYthology
There’s always something a-brewin’ at Club Street. Come late September 2012, new kid on the boutique block, MYthology will be launching with a stunning selection from independent Asian labels. Brands to look out for include TOTON, an emerging Indonesian label offering a mix of traditional Indonesian artisanship with a completely modern wearability; Nikasha, an Indian label that embodies a bohemian, vintage feel using chiffons, light silks and summery colours, and local label Dresstonomy with its signature minimalist yet intricate designs.

Lula Rock
The plethora of fancy frocks and cult labels here are bound to make you the sartorial spotlight of any night. Forget Shopbop and browse all your favourite brands at Lula Rock: bling out with Dannijo, dress up with Karla Spetic, Maurie & Eve, Alice McCall, and Stolen Girlfriend’s Club.

The Society of Black Sheep
Marina Bay Sands has its fair share of stylish chops, but this one’s a winner. From Judith Haas’s killer bracelets and Say My Name’s effortlessly chic dresses to edgy Chorux and the always lust-worthy Carrie K, The Society of Black Sheep lives by one motto: be seen, not herd. Well said, fashion game-changers.

TYAN
Here’s one for the glamour girls. Centrally located at ION Orchard (and we’ve already told you just how much is going on there), TYAN’s the kind of swanky boutique that every red carpet aspiring lady would want to visit. Get your fill of Sonia Rykiel, Jean Paul Gaultier, Paule Ka, Vivienne Tam, and Class Roberto Cavalli, then survey the damage over a spot of tea. TYAN can also be found at Millenia Walk, Palais Renaissance, and Marina Bay Sands.
TYAN at ION Orchard #03-13, 2 Orchard Turn, Singapore 238801, p. 6509 0676
Hide & Seek
Get your street cool fix at Hide & Seek. With accessories by international brands Nooka, Issey Miyake, Karen Walker, as well as local labels like Evenodd, Max Tan, and Two Of Us, both men and women will walk out looking like the sharp lookers that Hide & Seek aims to dress.
