Female baristas are like female drivers – as good as anyone out there! The feisty ladies who run Coffeesmith use beans from Papa Palheta and don’t waste their time with latte art (how’s that for bucking the trend?) but if you appreciate a strong cuppa, get here now. A contemporary Tokyo café in the heart of the business district? We can get on that. The highlight of this café is definitely the food: we love the extensive salad and sandwich menus, but the Mixed Mushroom Soup is a recipe after our own hearts. Munchies here are also significantly lighter with many vegetarian options. We’re regular happy patrons of the sleepy Serangoon Gardens estate, and The Coffee Daily is a definite reason to visit. We’re all fans of the mismatched vintage furniture and homey décor, plus the generally lazy, laidback vibe. The café also has a full menu of cake pastries, and ice-cream.
