Doesn’t matter if your sweet tooth is in overdrive or you’re for camp savoury – you’ll get your fix at Au Chocolat.

The newly opened French-inspired Bistro and Confiserie, conceptualized by the cool kids behind Ku De Ta and Catalunya, is a quirky mix of French sophistication, childlike wonderment, and – the highlight – friendly French fare.

Spanning 4,700 square feet, the Au Chocolat bistro offers a wide variety of French and international dishes.

We know that all-day breakfast fans will make a beeline for their all-day breakfast menus, but don’t miss out on the other treats: they’ve got everything from salads, pastas, tasty roasted meats, and hand- made savoury and sweet crepes to a snack menu to curb the munchies including truffle fries and mushroom bites.

And in case you were wondering – chocolate is used in every. single. dish.

So heads up, breakfast lovers. Now you get to eat dessert for breakfast with the Au Chocolat Benedict, which incorporates dark chocolate and red wine vinegar in its Hollandaise sauce. It may sound slightly out there (really? chocolate and eggs?), but our sources tell us it’s pretty damn good.

The restaurant is also really kid-friendly. The restaurant’s mascot, Danielle (most reminiscient of French sweetheart, Madeline) and her two dogs, OO and Yu Fa, front the restaurant and its products. So no, this isn’t just another French bistro – it’s the believable and whimsical world of Danielle.

Don’t believe us? Just look up. You’ll be enraptured with the molten chocolate roof and the vintage train chugging across the ceiling.

On top of a child-friendly menu that offers Danielle’s battered fish and OO mini burgers, kids get to be up close and personal with the chocolatiers’ glass kitchen, which churns out sweets like gelato, cheesecake, pies, and handmade truffles.

But the great thing about being an adult? No need to salivate all over the glass, just pop a truffle in your belly. Total bliss.
