All you need to be party-thrower of the year

If you have plans to wow those dinner guests, pull out all the stops, and be the talk of the neighbourhood for (at least) the next month, we’ve got you covered.
Tip #1 A hungry guest is a disgruntled fellow.
Feed or beware the masses. For fuss-free entertainment, cater.
Italian maestro Garibaldi does event catering by prepping the food in their kitchen and trucking it over. If you’re going Chinese, the TungLok group is a reliable bet.
A little research uncovered that you can roast your own suckling pig – if you’ve got the chops. Get your frozen suckling pig from Lee Bin Hong Pigs Supplier ($85 frozen, $130 for an already roasted one), Huber’s Butchery at Dempsey, or Indoguna. Note that you must call ahead to check if they have suckling pigs available.
Want some meat on an actual spit? Ring up Eatzi Gourmet Catering, where you can get a whole lamb on a spit, plus a chef to man the spit and carve the meat for $650. They also do other meat carving stations.
Yep, live cooking stations are the way to a killer party. Rent a roti prata man from The Prata Place, or call up the satay and otak experts to fan the perfect fire. Stamford Catering Services offer live cooking stations that do local faves like laksa, mee siam, and popiah, as well as Japanese tempura and Vietnamese spring rolls.
Going Mexican? Cherish Delights will supply a live cooking station that whips up fajitas on the spot for you. But for a crowd fave, we highly recommend Saybons – they make the tastiest crepes onsite and also supply French soups, all preservative-free!
If you’re manning your own barbeque pit, buy frozen satays from City Satay. Tried and tested – these are our go-to guys.
Tip #2 A sober host is a manic mess.
The more the wine, the better the party. Thankfully, alcohol can now be delivered straight to your door.
Tippletown offers an extensive range of craft ales & beers, specialty stout, fruit lambics and premium ciders. Your order must be placed at least 1-2 days in advance.
CraftBeer.sg also has a selection of craft beers with a similar delivery timeframe, but if you’re in a hurry, the guys at Mabuk Monkey deliver your order within an hour – we approve. Mabuk Monkey also carries an extensive range of alcohol.
If wine is more your thing, head to Liberty Arcade which stocks alcohol from 1855 The Bottle Shop and Rogue Merchants. We also really love ewineasia.com‘s huge selection of wine (red, white, port, sherry, sparkling, organic, biodynamic- you name it, they have it) and other spirits. Order before 1130am and you receive it the next day – simple!
Tip #3 Leave the details to the experts.
Don’t sweat the small stuff – outsource.
Guys, this is major. The Zwiesel Home Party supplies everything you need for a dinner party of 10-12 guests – for free. It’s an exclusive service so you have to apply, but the idea of simply picking a theme and letting the pros put everything else together? We’ll take our chances. Contact Gabriel Wong at mktg@zwiesel-kritallglas.sg for enquiries.
You can also rent picture perfect party chairs, cushions, plates, and props from the creative folk at Shop Wonderland, who also put together gorgeous bouquets.
If you’re looking for something crafty, ring up our favourite duo at In Merry Motion (proof: they handmade all the props used at this wedding!).
