Adrenaline addict or horror fan?
We’ve compiled a list of Singapore’s best halloween parties and festivities – plenty of hospital haunts, creepy dollhouses, and horror movie characters. Dance party or scarefest – pick your poison:
Halloween Horror Nights 2 @ USS
Twice as many scare-actors, three haunted houses, and five highly immersive scare zones – buckle in cos it’s bound to be one hell of a ride at USS. Make sure to check out the Insanitarium with Doctor Dementia and her ruthless experimental therapies, and the Dungeon of Damnation, a desolate realm of death where pure evil and suffering resides under the merciless hands of The Undertaker. Note that no costumes, masks, or face painting are allowed.
Halloween Horror Nights 2 @ Universal Studios Singapore, Fri 19-Sun 21 Oct 2012 & Thu 25-Sun 28 Oct 2012, 8pm-midnight, $68
Harry Potter Halloween (with ABSOLUT VODKA)
Vodka and Harry Potter? We raised our eyebrows too, but a 14-course degustation menu based on Harry Potter, paired with nine special vodka cocktails is decidedly spellbinding. Only 10 of 14 courses have been revealed, four are still a mystery – even to us! Culinary creations by Chef Leandros from triple-starred Michelin restaurant The Fat Duck include Blood Risotto, Broomsticks, and Stupefy-ed Quail.
Harry Potter Halloween Night at Saint Pierre is available only on Wed 31 Oct 2012, at $188++ per person at Saint Pierre, 3 Magazine Road, Central Mall, #01-01, Singapore 059570, p. 6438 0887.
The Superstition Ball
Come dressed to impress at the city’s best dressed costume party, The Superstition Ball, where bad luck is just the beginning. There will be wicked music, drool-worthy prizes and lots of beautiful people. Start with dinner and end with dancing!
The Superstition Ball, The White Rabbit, 39C Harding Road, Singapore 249541, p. 6473 9965. Sat 27 Oct 2012, 9pm to late.
The Zouk Doll House
A doll house-themed party for the grown-ups, Zouk’s Doll House is the ultimate Halloween dance party. Free and priority entry for those in full costume (as approved by the door dolls, priority given to DOLLS). Entry is not guaranteed if the club is full, so arrive early!
Zouk Doll House, Sat, 27 Oct 2012, 9pm-late, $28/$35 for non-members (incl. 2 drinks).
TGIW @ Zouk
Calling all dolls and demons, goblins and ghouls, elves and nymphs to come decked out in full costume and be “treated” like the dance floor royalty you are. Prepare to have your ears and eyes treated to a bag-full of trick-filled friendly Big Room House, Hip Hop, Electro & Mash-Up throughout the entire Zouk complex by Zouk’s Resident (Evil) DJs.
TGIW @ Zouk, Wed 31 Oct 2012, $25 (incl. 2 drinks), ladies enter for free.
Sentosa Spooktacular
Choose from five haunted trails at Fort Siloso (one of Singapore’s spookiest spots if you ask us), including the Deadly Doll Studio and Ouijia Board (located where POWs during WW2 are buried). Creepy.
Sentosa Spooktacular, 19-20 &26-28 Oct 2012, 7-11pm, tickets from $28-48.
FrightFest 2012 at the Singapore Flyer
Battle over 20 characters from horror shows like The Maid and The Walking Dead in the movie-themed Undead Forest before calming yourself on a trip up the Singapore Flyer. Relish the temporary relief 165m in the sky (bring that camera), but beware – there are more horror surprises lying in wait when you exit the Flyer…
There are also plenty of fringe activities like The Vampire’s Lair, a waterfront party, and The Witch’s Corner, a Halloween carnival and flea market. Join the Singapore Flyer Pick A Victim Facebook contest, and stand to win a 3D/2N Ritz Carlton grand prize and other attractive prizes. Contest ends 16 Oct 2012.
FrightFest 2012 begins to haunt on 12-14, 19-21 and 26-28 October 2012, 730-1030pm. Tickets from $18-45.
