Laduree in Singapore!
Yes, famed Laduree macarons are finally coming to town
Wednesday, 17 Oct 2012
We may only be halfway through the week, but chin up guys, we’ve got some sweet news for you.
Famed macaron-makers, Laduree, will finally be coming to Singapore next year!
Hurray to the end of carting back boxes of these delicate macarons (fun fact: these guys are credited for inventing the double-decker macaron)!
Details are due to be released tomorrow, but here’s what we know: the store will be located at Takashimaya near sister bakery, Paul Bakery.
Judging from the opening of its New York store last year, we can safely predict nothing short of a stampede – in which we might or might not be participating in – but all for good reason we assure you.
Watch this space for updates – we’ll get you guys the latest news by noon tomorrow.
Update (Thursday, 18 Oct 2012, 10am):
It is still unclear when Laduree will be opening, although they are hitting Hongkers first before coming to Singapore.
While we also previously said that Laduree will be opening at Takashimaya, it now seems that they’re opening in town along Orchard, though it’s unclear if it will be at Taka itself. Whatever they choose, it’s supposed to be near Paul Bakery, which we think is good for us – and not so great for our waistlines.
PS. While we’re on the topic – Paul Bakery is opening a second store at Collyer Quay’s Ocean Financial Centre… with plans for more. Sweet mama!
