Singapore Craft Beer Week 2012
Monday, 15 Oct 2012
Drinking goggles on, boys and girls, we’ve got reason to throw back some pints!
So the craft beer trend has been brewing steadily here – we approve, of course – and for the first time ever, Singapore’s about to celebrate a weeklong of craft beer during our inaugural Singapore Craft Beer Week (SCBW) happening Mon 22 Oct to Sun 28 Oct 2012.
Over 100 microbreweries, brewpubs, restaurants, and bars will be involved in SCBW 2012 – there’ll be special promotions, Masterclasses, tasting sessions, trivia nights, and oh yeah – free drinks!
Many of these events are free (more to rejoice over), and since so many places are partaking in the festivities, you don’t have to travel far from home to get wasted appreciate good beer.
Get yourselves down to the launch party at Brewerkz and enjoy complimentary beers and food while it lasts on Mon 22 Oct 2012, from 7-9pm. Not in the area? Opt for SCBW’s very first Masterclass at Buyan instead, where you’ll learn about the different beers from the Swiss Alps while sampling 5 of their best – all for free.
If you’ve ever wanted to brew your own beer, reserve a spot at Home Brewing 101 where Raymond, owner of iBrew, will teach you the ropes. The class will be held Tue 23 Oct 2012 from 7-9pm.
Ticketed events include a beer-paired dinner using brews from one of Scotland’s most progressive breweries at Old Empire Gastro Bar ($108 nett); Australian craft beer paired with local culinary creations from Wok & Barrel ($59++), and Beer Trivia Night at Brewerkz ($5/player).
The full programme can be found on the website, but for the latest news, be sure to follow SCBW on Facebook.
