A one woman show who will make a convert out of regular $300 per massage goers. Citra flies in from Jakarta for one month at a time (one month on, one month off) and charges just $50 for 1½ hours worth of massage at your home. Traditional Javanese Massage Hut
If you want to get out of the house and go to a spa without paying through the nose, then the best value in terms of quality of massage versus price is the Traditional Javanese Massage Hut. Thong Thai, Johor
If time is on your side, head over the the border to JB – they do amazing Thai massage at the slightly extraordinary sounding Thong Thai in Holiday Plaza. It costs about half of what you’d spend for the same thing in Singapore: an hour is about SGD$35. It’s also clean as a whistle there and the cotton PJs they make you change in to are laundered and lovely.
