NYE Plans (for free!)
Marina Bay Countdown, road closures, firework vantage points
Monday, 31 Dec 2012
Need a pal to toast the new year to? Want to ring in 2013 the Singaporean way (with free fireworks and a food fair)? Or just need a traffic update to navigate your way to that stunning NYE dinner?
You know we have you covered.
Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2013
If Sentosa debauchery isn’t your scene, this family-friendly event will please both adults and kiddoes alike.
Music buffs will appreciate the (free) local entertainment along The Promontory@Marina Bay. Starts at 10pm and goes till 1am.
Fuel up at the Waterfront Promenade (Marina Bay Link Mall) where you’ll be able to munch on gourmet bites from Four Seasons Gourmet Market, Salad Stop!, and The Rotisserie. From 5pm-2am.
The fireworks will go off for a solid eight minutes at midnight, but if waiting around for night lights isn’t your thing, take heart – for the first time ever, remote-controlled LED-lit kites from GoFlyKite (a Singapore invention, btw) will be buzzing around from 10pm.
And for international highlights – head to The Float@Marina Bay where the award-winning Jersey Boys will perform alongside K-pop acts and top local talents. Ticketed event from 730pm-3am. Buy tickets here.
Just want in on the fireworks? Set up camp here.
Road Closures
Heads up, drivers. Major roads like Fullerton Road, Esplanade Drive, Collyer Quay, Bayfront Avenue, Marina Boulevard, Raffles Link, Connaught Drive, and Battery Road will be closed from 10pm-130am.
