Spring Fresh
Caroline shows us how to artfully combine colours and patterns with this look. She anchors the look with some bold red lamps matched with olive green shades to match the floral artwork. Throw cushions are added to further promote colour flow within the room, with the white and green pattern print cushion giving the room some extra zing.
The Quiet Sophisticate
Colour blocking is an effective way to achieve that sophisticated and streamlined feel to any room, but remember to use only (no more, no less) three colours in the room. Silver adds a touch of sleek and elegance, and together with the mirrors, helps to illuminate the space.
The 5 Star Hotel Suite
Who doesn’t want to live in a hotel suite? Contrary to what you think you already know… variations of the same colour can create the illusion of space, so this look is great for small space. Caroline uses tone on tone colour graduation and textures to give the room depth and sophistication – note how the black and white colour scheme is repeated in the wall art, lamps, and soft furnishings. Make sure to add a little geometric print for interest, but show restraint here – a little goes a long way!
Island Life
A variation on the holiday home theme, this look brings the outdoors in with vintage botanical prints on the wall and fun fringed cushions on the bed. The lamps add a touch of sophistication and humour with their bamboo-inspired bases.
Hollywood Glam
Want to go glam while still keeping it real? Refresh the golden glamour of Hollywood with bold colour. The colour palette here’s a combination of spicy orange, pinks and reds, but the focal piece has to be the oversized lampshades paired with bejeweled lamp bases. Opulence and glamour – check and check.
Oceanic Blues
For all marine life lovers out there, Caroline shows us how to layer blue on blue in this calming look. The focus of this room is undoubtedly the abstract artwork of blues and greens that reflects the movement and energy of the sea. She uses turquoise blue and sea green throws to carry the colour from the wall to the bed, and tops the look off with some great sculptural blue lamps.
Beach House Retreat
Using a calming colour scheme (a soft cool blue, white, and sand) with the textured ceramic lamps and soft furnishings, the room is inviting and reminiscent of a seaside holiday.
Bohemian Rhapsody
This eclectic look is primarily characterized by the deliberately mismatched lampshades – of which Caroline has this to say, “who says you can’t mix and match these things!”
