Go Green & Gold
5 Top Tips for your Australia Day in Singapore
Tuesday, 22 Jan 2013
This Saturday (26 Jan), apply the green and gold zinc, round up your Australian mates, throw a shrimp on the BBQ, and enjoy the best of Australia – right here in Singapore. 1. Tune into Triple J Hottest 100 Australian or not, this is a day of very cool music. The national radio Triple J‘s countdown of the Hottest 100 is an annual music poll as voted by the listeners. Streaming it online is mandatory for any Australian living abroad. Read: Do Not Miss This. 2. Pack a picnic and enjoy the ‘harbour’ views Being Sydney-siders originally, picnics by the harbor with a portable BBQ are a tradition. Here we recommend heading to Labrador Park, where you can enjoy the sea views, or Pierce Reservoir for a more tranquil experience. For that seaside BBQ experience, head to the East Coast and get those sausages sizzling. 3. Head down to Boomarang Not into self-catering? We understand. Head down to Boomarang where the celebration kicks off at 7am and goes till late! There will be live Aussie tunes at 3pm, lawn bowls from 2pm, BBQ sausages and even a Kangaroo burger, live tennis from the Australian open, and happy hour draught beer prices all day. 4. Ship in the VB and fire up the BBQ You can order online your VB, Crown Lager or Cascade Premium or better yet, ship in a keg with 6 Drunk Men. Just order one-day prior, and pay on delivery, too easy! 5. Whip up some Lamingtons If you’re a whiz in the kitchen (or like to dabble) why not make some lamingtons or maybe some meat pies? It’s a great thing to do while you’re bopping along to Triple J’s Hottest 100. Image: Australia Day
