Last year’s It colour? Tangerine Tango, the Pantone Color of the Year 2012.
This year it seems we’re toning it down, going luxe, and still keeping it fresh with the Pantone Color of the Year 2013: Emerald.
We went window shopping for this jewel tone and look what we found!
Paint the town green with this VAMASTYLE M.I.A. in LA Silk Playsuit (SGD75).
We’ve got dibs on this JUSTIN YAP Eva Gown (SGD179) for a fancy night out – it’s elegant with the exquisite draping yet sexy with that open back.
If you’re shopping for the office, inject a bit of (on trend) colour with the FINDERS KEEPERS Wonderful Remark Pants available at Willow & Huxley (SGD150).
Shopping for Chinese New Year and don’t want to go the mandarin orange route? Our top pick is this gorgeous KHOON HOOI Scallop-hem Silk Brocade Cheongsam (SGD669), but if you don’t do cheongsams, go for a simple silk shift that will keep you cool in between visiting the relatives, like this ZARDOZE Rhinestone-Embellished Silk Taffeta Dress in Jade (SGD295). The clever FINDERS KEEPERS Burning Ground Skirt available at Willow & Huxley (SGD140) will also keep you cool (and still modest enough to meet the grandparents).
Jewellery’s a great way of trying Emerald without committing to the trend. Our picks: RIBBON & ROSES Green Onyx Stud Earrings (SGD100), TAARA JEWELRY Peacock Green Onyx Earrings (SGD79), and BEJEWELLED BESPOKE The Emerald Amunet Cuff (SGD91).
And while there are plenty of fab green heels out there, we’re sticking to comfort this time. We’re telling you – these iPANEMA Rubber Studded Sandals (USD28) will see you through days of resort vacays, trips to the shops, school runs, and cafe hopping.
