The Edit: Festival Fashion
Sartorial Ideas for Weekend Mischief

We’ve got festival fashion on our radar with two huge outdoor music fests, Laneway and Big Night Out, happening this month.
The tank top and shorts combo – we’ve all done it. Instead of those denim cutoffs, reach for these H&M brocade babies. Forget the fedora and opt for a sports cap (suitably blinged out, of course) instead – sporty chic is in ladies, take advantage of the comfort factor.
Rompers: you gotta love ‘em. They’ll keep you cool, won’t flip up as you dance and booze (and you know you will), and you’ll never run the risk of losing that top after you peel it off at the end of the night (it happens). We love VAMA STYLE’s M.I.A. in L.A. in Blue Ikat (SGD75). Want to cover up? Opt for SWEET BLOSSOM’s Maud Blue Jumpsuit (SGD97.50), which is Fair Trade and at a mega steal.
Save the little black dresses for another dance floor – outdoor festivals call for breezy, light fabrics in swingy cuts. Our first choice: this amaaaaazing SUBOO Barbado Mini Dress (SGD370). Need more flounce in your step? SWEET BLOSSOM’s Lara White Dress (SGD128) is what you need.
If you’re inclined to go darker, try New York-based label JUMA’s Abstract Print Double Layer Dress (SGD403). It’s part bohemian, part new age, and cut in a modern silhouette.
Festival essentials. This one isn’t glamorous, but it’ll save you those itches and scars after – bug spray (SGD20). Counter the less fashionable repellent with this NINA NGUYEN Sand Geode Bracelet (SGD273). Remember: you don’t want to be wearing any fabric bracelets or necklaces as these will soak up perspiration, so opt for materials like waxed cord or leather.
