The GODOWN
New Vintage Homewares Store at Zion Road
Wednesday, 23 Jan 2013
We love our homewares; we love our vintage finds, and we know you lot do too.
So get ready to jump in your cars for this new vintage homewares store along Zion Road, The GODOWN.
The place is a collaboration between interior designer, Audrey Lee (she’s a total doll!), and her business partner, founder of BATHE in Bali.
They’re really new – their official opening is only at the end of the month – but there are already plenty of good finds in this gem of a boutique. Not everything is vintage; there are some new products – but they’re all personally sourced from around the world.
As with vintage products, there’s an emphasis on sustainability and recycling already used resources so you’ll find odds and ends like chandelier crystals and upcycled wood pallets to statement furniture pieces (we spied some cute trunks).
They also have a kitchen area which you can book out for private events – an afternoon shopping vintage treasures and filling up on tea and biscuits? We smell a classy party.
The service is ace – everyone’s friendly, smiling, and hospitable, and since the store feels like home… well it’s easy to lounge around and spend the afternoon there. Better yet: they even offer complimentary cupcakes and drinks. Extra brownie points for feeding us hungry shoppers!
Get down quick – and tell them the Honeycombers sent you!
The GODOWN, 44 Zion Road (opposite Great World City), Singapore 247776, p. 6333 8966. Open 11am-7pm daily.
Tip: there’s public parking directly behind the store.
