Little Feb Fun
What to do with Kids this February
Thursday, 31 Jan 2013
Looking for things to do with kids… while making sure you’re entertained too? We’ve got some ideas up our sleeves.
If you haven’t already visited the newly opened Marine Life Park, wait no longer! Make sure to go early on a weekday (or earliest on a weekend) because the crowd spoils the otherwise A+ experience. It’s the world’s largest oceanarium and is great for both big and little kids. (We especially like the jellyfish.)
If you have older kids, make time for the Adventure Cove Water Park right next door! Kids below 13 will have to be supervised.
Don’t forget that KidsFest 2013 is still on and tickets are selling like hotcakes – so snag yours quick if you haven’t already. See details here.
Don’t know anything about Chinese New Year or just really want to get in the festive mood? Head to Gardens by the Bay the first weekend of February where you can find out about the seasonal flowers, meet magicians, and get crafty with other littlies. There will also be multi-cultural dance and opera performances. Details here.
Speaking of crafts, have you checked out our Valentine’s Day craft activities for kids? It’s a crafting extravaganza!
And because we’re always on a crazy craft bender, checking out The Art Room is definitely on our to-do list this month. These guys know no boundaries – they even encourage painting on the walls, tables, and floors! They offer classes for both kids and adults and the selection? Mind-blowing. There’s pottery painting, clay work, silver jewellery making, sewing, paper mache sculpting, print making, wire sculpting, bespoke/themed parties, pin board making, cake decorating, oil/acrylic painting, glass painting… yes, these guys are officially awesome.
Don’t forget to book tickets for Little Red Hen, the sellout hit in 2007 and 2008. They’re now back with a reworked set and costumes… but with all of their catchy tunes. A must-go. Details here.
Lastly, if you want to reclaim your Saturday, here’s our parenting tip of the month: pack the kids off to the raddest camp out there. Camp Asia’s Saturday Club will give you some of your well-deserved Saturday quiet while ensurng the kids get to run around and have a fun (and productive) time.
