Lunchtime Shoe Fix
We’ve addressed lunchtime beauty fixes, but what to do when your heel breaks mid commute? Here’s our CBD guide for the lunchtime shoe fix.
Oh Damn, my heel! We’ve heard that before. Embarrassing moments aside, these sole traders and convenient shoe stops will have you strutting the runway (office carpets) again in no time.
If you’re in the heart of the CBD, walk over to Benson Cobbler Store at The Arcade (located right next to Exit C of Raffles Place MRT) for a quick shoe fix.
Benson Cobbler Store, The Arcade, 11 Collyer Quay, Singapore 049317, p. 6226 2548.
If you can afford to hobble a bit further (we kid), there are a few traditional cobblers at People’s Park Complex parked right outside Exit C of Chinatown MRT station. Affectionately known as Cobblers Square, they’re easy to spot with their makeshift stalls and huge umbrellas.
As its name suggests, Master Fix Services at Raffles City Shopping Centre is known amongst the heel-lovin’ fashionistas for their reliable workmanship. This is probably your best bet for those designer soles.
Master Fix Services, Raffles City Shopping Centre, 252 North Bridge Road, #B2-09, Singapore 179103, p. 6338 2306. Open daily 11am-11pm.
Alternatively, chuck those shoes to make way for a new pair (there’s always reason to go shoe shopping!) From wedges, pumps to stilettos – we love the wearable and affordable designs at Heatwave. Another fave’s DMK at Raffles Xchange – we walked by once during lunch and couldn’t resist bagging a new pair each. Shoes first, food later.
Heatwave, Hitachi Tower, 16 Collyer Quay #02-10 Singapore 049318, p. 6732 9429. Open Mon-Fri 11am-8.30pm, Sat 11am-6pm.
DMK, Raffles Xchange, Raffles Place MRT, 5 Raffles Place #B1-34, p. 6538 0252. Open daily 11am-10pm.
