Inaccessibility has never once deterred curious travellers from wanting to step foot on the landlocked, impoverished yet Shangri-La perfect Bhutan, home to ancient Buddhist temples, beautiful, untouched landscapes, and happy people.
If you’re one of those drawn to the Land of the Thunder Dragon, consider exploring the idyllic country with travel photography specialist Eyes on Asia from 16 to 22 November 2014 – and hone your shooting skills at the same time.
Photographer Felix Hug, winner of Travel Photographer of the Year, and producer Jamie Boyd will take travelers through the amazing mountains, deep valleys, iconic temples, scenic rice fields and jagged caves of Bhutan in this workshop-getaway, all while sharing photography tips to help you capture stunning pictures.
The seven-day itinerary (subjected to change) includes a hike to the breathtaking Tiger Monastery, perched on a cliff 3,000 metres above sea level, as well as a visit to local art schools and villages. It will end off with an image critique, post-production and Q&A session on the last day.
Prices start from $7,100 per person for a twin-sharing package on Economy Class. A minimum of eight participants (and a maximum of 12) is required for the trip. The Bhutan Travel Getaway includes all accommodation and breakfast, return flights on Druk Air, two dinners and six lunches, instructor and guide fees, transport on location, visa and permits. Travel insurance is not included, so be sure to get your own. Registration closes 10 September 2014.
