A new adventure and self-discovery game, Serenflipity, has just been successfully crowd funded to enter production. The innovative travel game is designed to connect users to new places, new people and themselves.
It all started as a personal project of one of its co-founders, Cara Thomas, as a way to get “unstuck” through taking a 90 day sabbatical. A few years ago, Cara felt creatively stuck, and knew that travel would be the remedy for inspiration and change. But instead of relying on guidebooks, she asked friends to design her sabbatical experience, through giving her daily “challenges” that she had to complete. They ranged from asking strangers for mantras, to letting go of aspects of her personality that no longer served her, and led her to story-worthy experiences, a new sense of self, and a ton of fun.
The last challenge she received on her trip was from a new friend in Bali, who saw the impact that this project had had on Cara, and suggested that she turn this into something that others could benefit from as well.
Over the past year, Cara and her two partners, Veronica and Julian, have been building the beta product – designing the content in a way that unlocks the full range of emotions that make us truly happy; then testing with friends, family and experts; and tweaking the prototype to be both beautiful and usable.
In July, the team shared its first iteration on Haystakt. In 14 days, with fewer than 5 posts on Facebook and Instagram, the “shares” of friends, and the Haystakt platform, 170 orders were secured. They are now in production, and fielding more orders!
It’s all about like-minded adventurers connecting with each other, sharing stories and insights, learning from each other, and even meeting up in random corners of the world.
The cards are currently for sale on Haystakt, and you can contact Cara, Veronica and Julian at [email protected] .
