Every now and then you have the opportunity to have a say with just a click of the button, and make a wee difference. Here is one of those opportunities. The Nature Society has submitted a proposal to the government called The Green Corridor: A Proposal to Keep the Railway Lands as a Continuous Green Corridor. The current KTM Railway Land will become Singapore's after train operations cease on 1 Jul 2011. This is a once-in-a-nation's-history opportunity for us to retain and create something completely unique which no other country can replicate - a green spine running through the centre ...read more

Day for Daisy is in support of Daisy Bennett, who has recently been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA-type 1) at 3 months of age. All money raised will be donated directly to Daisy to assist with her anticipated medical bills. SMA-type 1 is a progressive genetic neuro-muscular disorder. SMA affects Daisy's ability to physically develop, but her mind is unaffected and she is as alert, curious and smiley as any other baby. Over the coming months, Daisy will require a high level of medical care and intervention, as simple tasks such as sucking, eating and breathing become more challenging. ...read more

The jewellery design process is fascinating. It is much more than just coming up with a pretty picture to show to a client or hand to a jeweller to make. Every design ...read more

Need a new year's resolution? Or looking for some way to lend a helping hand to those less fortunate? Singapore Council of Women's Organisation's Star Shelter program is in need of assistance. This non-religious organization helps women and their children who are in abusive relationships and at risk situations. The shelter houses them temporarily, offers support, and ways for them to get back on their feet. Often women arrive when they have nowhere to go and usually because they leave their husbands, receive little or no support from their family network, and the shelter is their only refugee.
