]]>Preparation Time: 5 - 10 minutes, Cooking Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients (serves 2)
120g maderia cake (vanilla cake), crumbled
4 scoops vanilla ice-cream
Caramel topping, to serve
Method
Place the cake crumbs in a large non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and crisp. Transfer to a plate and set aside for 5 minutes to cool.
Working with 1 scoop of ice-cream at a time, roll the ice-cream in the crumb mixture. Place in serving bowls. Drizzle with caramel topping to serve.
]]>Ingredients (serves 2):
1 blueberry bagel
3 tsp light cream cheese
1 strawberry, sliced
4 currants
50g fresh blueberries
1/2 small apple
Method
Cut the blueberry bagel in half horizontally. Toast until golden. Place, cut-side up, on serving plates. Spread the cream cheese over the cut side of each bagel. Place 1 strawberry slice at the edge of each bagel to make a head. Top each strawberry slice with 2 currants to make eyes. Divide fresh blueberries between the bagel halves to make a body. Thinly slice apple. Arrange the apple on the sides of the bodies to make wings.
Use:
2 cups of plain flour
4 tablespoons of 'cream of tartar'
2 tablespoons of cooking oil
1 cup of salt
2 cups of boiling water
food colouring
Whisk the dry ingredients so they are aerated and lump-free. Then put all the ingredients into a bowl and mix. It may not look as though it will mix well but hang in there, then throw it onto the bench to knead and it will come together.
Add in glitter, sequins or sand for something different...but not rice - it goes mouldy!
Tip: *Add peppermint oil for a great smell and even longer lasting playdough...
You need:
1 glass
1 empty Tabasco bottle or similar (that fits in the glass)
2 bottles of Glycerin (available from pharmacies).
Fill the Tabasco bottle with Glycerin.
Half fill the glass.
Put the bottle in the glass and watch the bottle disappear....magic!
Either way, when your little one hands out the party goodies to friends in school or at home, you can be sure that you are giving away useful and fun treasures!
