Your ultimate guide to everything fabulous and fun in Singapore

Don Quijote

What:

Singapore's most authentic Spanish restaurant, Don Quijote is expanding. First opening in Bukit Timah in 2008, Don Quijote's second branch opened on Singapore's National Day in vibrant dining hot spot Dempsey to cater to overwhelming demand for the authentic Spanish fare.

Located in Dempsey's latest block 7, the new branch accommodates between 130 and 150 people and has two private dining rooms that seats eight to ten people and 18 to 20 people each. The Bukit Timah branch seats 50 people.

According to members of the Spanish community in Singapore, Don Quijote has some of the most authentic tapas outside Spain, with the Garlic Fried Shrimp Rolled in Eggplant being amongst the favourites.

"Whenever my family is missing home, we go to Don Quijote for their tapas, especially Rollitos de Berenjena y Gambas. It is very difficult to have a table at the weekend without a reservation, so the bigger space will cater to the demand and more people can discover our true Spanish culture!" says Spaniard and Don Quijote regular.

Anyone who has been looking for that great wine they had in Spain, chances are Don Quijote carries that label. In addition, Don Quijote @ Dempsey has the widest bar offering on the hill, stocking over 100 different kinds, of which there are over 35 varieties of whisky, ten different vodkas, eight types of beers and six kinds of rum.
