What:
Baybeats is Singapore's own local annual alternative music festival presented by Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay. Since 2002, it has sought to showcase good local, regional and international alternative bands, give them an opportunity to meet and exchange ideas; and bring to audiences a fun, 3-day celebration of great live alternative music in a variety of sounds such as post-rock, punk, emo, electro, indie-pop and hard rock.
Best thing about the festival? It's FREE!
Now BAYBEATS is one of the most looked-forward-to music festivals in Singapore, hosting bands from countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, The Philippines, Indonesia, Australia, USA, and of course, our very own Singaporean bands, drawing large audiences to the Esplanade each year.
Baybeats 2010 will feature over 50 free performances by 36 bands from 10 countries. Expect a line-up of alternative genres from folk (Carlos Castano) to eletronica (like Cosmic Armchair), electro-punk (like Handsome Furs), indi-pop (like The Camerawalls) and more....
